From a Family Kitchen
to a Community Table

Cafe Rio was born from a simple dream: to create a place where neighbors become friends over honest, lovingly prepared food. What started as a small family counter in 2010 with a handful of recipes handed down through generations has grown into one of North Las Vegas's most beloved dining destinations.

Founders Marco and Elena Rivera poured their life savings — and their hearts — into a modest space on Craig Road. They believed that the best restaurants aren't built on trends; they're built on relationships. Every morning, fresh ingredients arrive from local farms. Every afternoon, our kitchen teams prepare everything from scratch.

Today we serve over 500 guests daily, but we still remember every regular's name. We still use the same tamale recipe Elena learned from her grandmother. And we still believe that food made with real care tastes completely different from anything else.

2010

The First Plate

Marco and Elena Rivera open the original Cafe Rio on Craig Road with just 8 tables, a wood-fire oven, and family recipes spanning three generations. Lines form outside within the first week.

2013

Local Partnerships Begin

We sign agreements with 6 local Nevada farms to supply fresh produce year-round. This commitment to local sourcing becomes the foundation of our flavor and community reputation.

2016

Expansion & Recognition

The dining room expands to 60 seats following renovations. Cafe Rio earns its first "Best Restaurant in North Las Vegas" award from local food critics and our loyal regulars.

2019

Delivery & Digital Launch

We launch our online ordering system and local delivery service, bringing Cafe Rio's handcrafted food directly to homes and offices across the Las Vegas Valley.

2022

Catering & Events

We launch our full-scale catering division, serving corporate events, weddings, and private parties throughout Nevada — bringing the Cafe Rio experience to any occasion.

2025

Franchise Program Opens

After 15 years of refinement, we open the Cafe Rio Franchise Program — inviting passionate entrepreneurs to carry our story, values, and recipes into new communities nationwide.
